They're not tapestry slippers, they're my tapestry shoes...

So, as with all best laid plans and good intentions, my first 'proper' post was not on the 1/1/13. However, it is my belief with all New Year Resolutions, they don't really count on the first of January. 'I will drink less' rarely applies when Midnight strikes. 'I will eat less chocolate' does not happen at 5pm the day after when you need a sugar hit.

On that note I wish you all a year filled with health, happiness, good friends, good experiences and great charity shop buys. Best of luck on all your exploits in 2013 and good luck with your New Years Resolutions!

So here it is - my first 'proper' post. And it's about my last charity shop purchase of 2012, as I had no win on my recent charity shop hunt... Enjoy.

So a friend came over recently and said, 'Oh you finally got some slippers!'. I often complain of cold feet. My reply, "Ahaha! No! I wear them as shoes!' Another exasperated face from a friend... My wardrobe choices can be abstract. In my mind they are they are very Ralph Lauren meets Grandma and her tapestry bag. They look better on I promise. I shall post them in a OOTD soon!

They have a proper rubberised plastic sole so I'm not being too much of a mentalist wearing them outside but basically I am a sucker for tapestry! I love the black background of these as it makes them perfect with black tights and dresses and the floral is quite bright, it picks up a dull day. Being slippers (although we don't say this out loud of course) they are also very comfortable. The perfect pick me up after an evening out in heels!

These beauties cost me £2.99 and I got them from The British Heart Foundation. Such a bargain. On the same trip I also picked up an vintage St Michael oversized cocoon coat with a faux fur collar for £10. I will have to explain here that I pride my sartorial choices on being obscure. It's my favourite when something sounds horrific but surprises you pleasantly when seen. The description of this coat when describing it to a cloakroom attendant was 'It's brown, old Marks and Spencers, a bit like a duvet with a bit of fur on - and it's size 16.' His face was a picture.

With that I shall bid you good-night!
